The installation:

Bennington Bookmarks stations are located on each of the three floors of Crossett Library. They provide access to messages currently associated with a bookmark and the complete database of messages left over time. A library visitor can add their own messages to the system, or attach it to a Bookmark, at one of the stations.

The bookmarks:

Bookmarks can be found throughout the library attached to books that patrons have associated messages with. There are three sets of nine forms, which were chosen to represent subjects taught at Bennington College. You can read more about the bookmarks here.

The bookmarks were modeled on Autodesk 3ds Max software and rapid prototyped in white ABS(acrylonitrile/butadiene/styrene), with tassels of embroidered grey wool felt and attached with grey suede.
