Plexiglas, museum board, arduino, miscellaneous electronics, LED’s and internet connection.

Home State is comprised of a 3/16″ (equal to 1″) scale plexiglass model of the artist’s childhood home and a contour map of the property. Embedded within the model are small LED lights and a micro-controller connected to the internet. The model communicates in real-time over the network with sensors located in each of the rooms of the parental home in Cincinnati, Ohio. The model lights directly correspond to the areas of the house where the parents are located, revealing their presence or absence to the audience in an exhibition setting.
